Meet Char Wong-Richardson 🍍
Self-Love + Confidence Coach | NLP Master Practitioner
Hey, I’m Char!
I’m a self-love and confidence coach, DEI advocate, speaker, and professional hype woman for those ready to stop playing small and start living BIG.
But let’s be real—I didn’t always have this confidence. I had to fight for it.
I’m an extroverted introvert, a city girl thriving in the burbs (old me doesn’t even recognize myself!), and a shameless over-sharer with big-ass dreams. Obsessed with: all things Hawaiian, pineapples, and ice cream. Oh, and always keeping it real—because life’s too short for anything else.
I’m a second-gen Chinese-Canadian, a trauma survivor, and a recovering perfectionist and people-pleaser—aka, I spent way too long making myself small to create harmony of others. But not anymore. I know what it’s like to shrink yourself, to feel like your voice doesn’t matter. That’s why I do this work—to help WOC and BIPOC folks step into their power, own their confidence, and take up space unapologetically.

Why I Do This Work
At 17, my life changed. I was sexually assaulted. Instead of dealing with it, I buried it, thinking if I ignored the pain, it would disappear. Spoiler: it didn’t. I spent years moving through life in survival mode—unhealthy coping, toxic friendships, abusive relationships. Trauma shaped my decisions in ways I didn’t even realize at the time. But no matter how far I ran (literally—I even moved away for university), the pain stayed with me.
Eventually, I hit a breaking point. I did the hard, messy, soul-deep work to heal, to grieve, to reclaim my story. (And continue to do the work!) And guess what? That healing didn’t break me—it made me. Stronger, more compassionate, and finally able to show up as the most confident, empowered version of myself. And once I did that, my whole world shifted. I started attracting better—physical health, loving friendships, and, for the first time ever, a healthy romantic relationship with my now-life-partner, Travis (12 years and counting!).
Then at 30, I hit another crossroads. On paper, I had everything: steady job, benefits, house, loving partner. But I was miserable in my career. Like so many children of immigrants, I was conditioned to believe work wasn’t meant to be fulfilling—it was meant to be stable. I wasn’t a doctor, lawyer, or accountant like my sisters (aka the immigrant parent-approved success paths; sorry, Mom and Dad!), and I felt like I had failed.
But deep down? I knew there had to be more. More than working just to fund the next vacation. More than settling for “good enough.” I realized I didn’t have to live by default—I could design a life that actually felt aligned and fulfilled. And that’s exactly what I did.
I created my own path—one where I get to help people, create a positive impact in the world, and make good money doing what I love. Now, I help others turn their trauma into triumph, their pain into purpose, and their self-doubt into self-trust. I help leaders show up with confidence, create safe spaces, and lead with authenticity and impact—whether in life or the boardroom. Because when you love yourself first? Everything else aligns—your relationships, your career, your leadership, all of it.
What This Means for You
I know what it’s like to feel stuck in a life that doesn’t feel like yours. But I also know this: you don’t have to stay there. You deserve a life that lights you up. A career, relationships, and self-image that make you feel alive. And that starts with self-love and confidence.
Basically, I’m your no B.S., straight-talking, hilarious yet loving hypewoman and accountability buddy—here to make sure you get what you’re worth: a life you freaking LOVE, living as your full, unapologetic self. Let’s make it happen. 🔥
I can’t wait to meet you and hear your story 💞
And if you’re wondering about credentials...
(Though let’s be real, most people just vibe with my story first.)
I’m a certified transformation coach, trauma-informed practitioner, and NLP Master Practitioner.
Love, Partnership & Breaking the Mold

Building a business while healing generational trauma and breaking cycles? Whew. It’s a lot. And through every high, low, pivot, and sassy side-eye, there’s been one person who’s stood by me, even when my spirituality made zero sense to him: my husband, Travis.
We’re not the same. I’m over here talking about energetic frequencies, vibrations, and manifesting, and he’s out here looking at me like, “...huh?” (Yes, I’ve literally translated my spiritual woo-ness into electrical terms so he can kinda keep up.)
But despite being on completely different wavelengths (literally), he’s always let me be me—loud, bold, unfiltered, and fully in my element. And even more than that? He’s let me share our life—our relationship, our struggles, our growth—so others can see what real partnership looks like.
Because let’s be real: relationships aren’t just about love; they’re about equity. About dismantling gender norms and showing up for each other in a way that’s fair, balanced, and rooted in mutual respect. And let’s not even get started on the parenting front—raising two biracial kids with intention, making sure they see self-love in action, and teaching them that confidence starts from within.
He may never fully get my world, but he’s always had my back. And that, my loves, is what true partnership looks like.
